Tear A Strip Off Of Tony

Hey everybody!
I've come up with a great idea for Tony for this year's Run For The Cure...I think it would be cool if we sold off chances to wax him! I've gotten together with Escape Spa, Salon & Studio at 460 Mountain Road in Moncton...apparently they have an incredible wax surplus that they're willing to donate! Here's the deal...you can buy a strip of wax for $50. For that $50 you get to join us on stage at The CIBC Run For The Cure on Sunday, October 1st at Centennial Park in Moncton. And you'll get to pull that strip of wax off of Tony in front of thousands of people. Sound like fun? We think it is...and it's for a great cause...The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! We'll be taking pledges Wednesday morning, September 27th, as we broadcast live from Escape Spa, Salon & Studio at 460 Mountain Road in Moncton between 6-10. We'll have representatives on hand from The CIBC Run For The Cure to take your donation. Tear A Strip Off Of Tony! and help us in the fight against breast cancer...From Magic 104!

Christmas Daddies Family Fun Day

We had a fantastic time on Saturday at The Christmas Daddies Family Fun Day at Centennial Park. Great performances by Mad Science, Kevin The Magician, Clifford The Big Red Dog and lots more. Of course, any time you get more than a thousand people down in the gully by Centennial Beach it's gonna be fun! Thanks again to CTV for inviting us to spend the day having fun and raising money so that kids right here in New Brunswick and PEI can have Christmas like the rest of us. The grand total? $6,800!!! For those of you who aren't familiar with Christmas Daddies, take a look at our community links on the right of this page and you'll see the link. Great job and a big thumbs up to Tina Robicheau and The Christmas Daddies committee. Sponsors for the event on Saturday included Be Smart, Be Safe, Par-T-Perfect, & Magic 104. I hope you had as good a time as my kids did.

Seeing Pink

Thursday was the day we judged the Downtown Moncton Pink Window Decorating contest. Shelli and I and The Run For The Cure Co-Director Fern had a great time wandering in and out of all the stores and businesses on Main Street. It was great to see so many pink windows!

Participation was up almost 50% over last year...and sooooooo tough to pick a winner...
But we did...
Congratulations to Dooly's!
Moncton's premiere pool place was dressed to the nine ball! Way to go Angela and staff for really going all out to show Moncton your support in the fight against breast cancer. Did you know that Dooly's even has a special pink pool table you can play with proceeds going to breast cancer research? Great job!

Second place went to Jagoes Fine Jewelry! A great pink window display and terrific team spirit with everybody in the store dressed in pink...even the dog!

Thanks again to everyone for participating...I'll get more pictures up from the event soon but we wanted to show you our winners this morning.

Here's a complete list of participants:
Jagoes Fine Jewelery
CIBC (Church & Main)
Her Boutique
ING
The Flag Shop
Fahda's Pita Wrap
Actus Law Firm

Tim Horton's (Alma & Main)
Tim Horton's (City Hall)

Thanks for Thinking Pink!
And don't forget the CIBC Run For The Cure at Centennial Park on October 1st.

Dawson College

By now you've heard of the events of yesterday at Montreal's Dawson College. Shelli and I, like you this morning, are talking about it, and saddened at the senseless violence.

The Maritime Broadcasting System has set up an information site for those of you who are looking for information about family members who are connected with Dawson College:

On The Green In Pink

I had the pleasure of being invited to join the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation team at the recent Ganong Pro-Am Golf Charity event at The Moncton Golf & Country Club. Over $25,000 was raised for The CBCF! (Thanks again to my team for a fun day...and for not saying anything to anyone about the 27 balls I 'lost')
