A Very Merry Rex-Mas

Every year Magic 104 has a toy drive for kids all over Greater Moncton & South-East New Brunswick. This year we got a little help from Sony-BMG recording artist and Canadian Idol finalist Rex Goudie! Rex stopped by our studios to talk about his new album 'Under The Lights' with Troy & Dave and then he joined us for our toy blitz at Atlantic Canada's biggest indoor playground, Crystal Palace where he signed autographs and posed for pictures for nearly two hours. Everyone who came had to bring a toy in order to meet Rex...Hundreds showed up and donated more than 300 toys!!! After a busy afternoon Rex unwound with a few rides on the rollercoaster with The Crystal Palace staff and the gang from Magic 104.
Thanks for your generosity and thanks for listening!

Curling For Cancer

The Magic 104 RadioActives were out on the weekend at Curl For Cancer in aid of The Canadian Cancer Society's programs here in New Brunswick. We had a great time at The Beausejour Curling Club in Moncton and the event raised more than $4000 for The Cancer Society! A big thanks to Burke and Fullerton Electric for bidding on the Sidney Crosby jersey in our radio auction on Friday...They pledged $1,850!!! In the pictures above you can see the jersey with the high bidders and Tony on the left side and on the other side it's Kathleen Soucy from The Cancer Society and Bruce from Castrol who were kind enough to donate the Crosby jersey. You can also see Shelli on the ice...She's smiling because our team hadn't lost the game at that point. To be fair we're better at horseshoes and lawn darts than we are at curling....honest!
You can donate to the Canadian Cancer Society by going here: www.cancer.ca

Thanks for listening!
