Dreams Take Flight

For the past 11 years, Air Canada employees have been doing something pretty neat. All year they fundraise, volunteer their time, and find very special kids to take on a very special trip. Wednesday, October 19th at 6am, Dreams Take Flight Atlantic took off with 77 excited kids, and a whole bunch of grown up kids, for Walt Disney World, Florida!!! Magic 104 and our sister station from Halifax, Country 101 were very lucky to get invited along for the trip. Myself and my friend Denyse Sibley from Halifax got to have the adventure of a lifetime with exactly the kind of people to go on an adventure with, great kids and a bunch of grown up kids with the biggest hearts you can imagine. What a day! Maybe you heard me talking to the group of Moncton kids on the plane ride down, or later in the day as they got off the rides in The Magic Kingdom...You couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces for anything! 11 years ago in Toronto, a group of Air Canada employees had the idea for this...getting special kids to Disney for the day and letting them forget about their problems. Since 1989 about 10,000 kids have enjoyed the trip of a lifetime thanks to the hard work and big hearts of the people working at Air Canada. You can find out more about this terrific program at www.dreamstakeflight.ca

In the pictures above you can see the whole group of us just after we landed in Orlando and one of me and my friends from Moncton and Saint John and my buddies from Country 101 Denyse and Shauna, we're standing on Main Street U.S.A. in The Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for listening!

Tony

I can't decide which it is...
in that Main St. USA pic, are you supposed to be a pirate, or Macho Man Randy Savage?

Scott.

(p.s. I was always a leaping Lanny fan, myself...)
